Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Sidewind OÜ, an Estonian private limited company (registry code 17593317, registered office in Tallinn, Harju County), which we refer to as "we". By creating an account or using Timato you agree to them. If you are using Timato on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind that company.
Using Timato without an account is also covered by these terms, though most of them will not apply to you until you sign in.
What Timato is
Timato is a pomodoro timer and time tracker. It runs in your browser, works offline, and, if you create an account, syncs your sessions between devices. A Team plan adds shared projects, task claims and team totals. AI agents will be able to record what they worked on through personal access tokens, a command-line tool and an MCP server; that part is not generally available yet, and the sections about it apply once it is.
We describe the current features honestly on the landing page and in the app. Features change over time; we add some and occasionally remove some. We will not remove your ability to export your data.
Your account
You need a working email address. Keep your password and any personal access tokens to yourself; anything done with them is treated as done by you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think a credential has leaked, and revoke any tokens under Settings once agents are available.
You must be at least 16 to create an account.
Free and paid plans
Free is the complete timer on one device, without an account and without a time limit: focus and track modes, unlimited projects, history, editing and export. It is not a trial and it does not expire.
Personal costs EUR 3 per month or EUR 30 per year and adds the two things that use our servers: sync and backup across your devices, and, once released, agent runs through personal access tokens, the command-line tool and the MCP server. Creating an account starts seven days of Personal free, with no card. When they end without a subscription, sync pauses: nothing is deleted, everything stays on each device, and it uploads again the moment a plan is on.
Team costs EUR 4 per seat per month, billed monthly, and includes Personal for every member. New teams get a trial period without a card; when it ends without a card on file, the team pauses and becomes read-only until one is added. Seats are prorated: adding a seat mid-cycle charges for the remaining days, removing one credits the remaining days against the next invoice. Seats can never be set below the number of people in the team.
Subscriptions bought on our website are billed by Stripe and appear as SIDEWIND on your card statement. You can cancel at any time from your account or the team's billing page; the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not charged again. We do not refund partial periods except where the law requires it. If you buy Personal through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that purchase is managed, renewed, cancelled and refunded through the store under its terms, and we cannot change it from the website.
Prices are what you pay; we do not currently charge VAT. If we become VAT-registered, VAT will be added where the law requires, and we will tell you before it reaches your invoice. If we change a price, we will tell you at least 30 days before the change reaches your next invoice.
Your data is yours
Everything you record in Timato is yours. We claim no ownership of it. You give us only the licence we need to store it, sync it between your devices, show it to your team where you have chosen to share it, and back it up. That licence ends when you delete the data or your account.
You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time, and delete your account and every row we hold, from inside the app. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Teams
The person who creates a team is its owner and is responsible for it: for who is invited, for the seats paid for, and for how the workspace is used. Admins can see members' hours; members can see project totals only. If a team uses domain auto-join, the owner confirms they control that domain.
An owner who wants to leave must first hand the team to someone else or delete it. Deleting a team returns its shared projects to the owner's personal workspace and ends its subscription.
Agents and tokens
Not generally available yet; this section applies once it is. A personal access token lets software record runs on your behalf. It cannot read or change your sessions, your billing or your team. You are responsible for the agents you connect and for what they record. Agent time is shown beside your time and is never counted as yours.
Acceptable use
Do not use Timato to break the law, to interfere with the service or other people's use of it, to probe or attack our systems, or to send unsolicited invitations. Do not resell access. We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and we will say why unless the law prevents it.
Availability and changes
We run Timato on the free tiers of well-known infrastructure and aim to keep it available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Because the app works offline, an outage on our side does not stop your timer or lose your local data; it delays sync.
We may change or discontinue features. If we ever decide to shut Timato down, we will give at least 90 days' notice and keep export working until the end.
Ending the agreement
You can end it at any time by deleting your account. We can end it if you break these terms, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason, in which case we will refund any prepaid Team fees for the period after the end date.
Disclaimers
Timato is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be error-free or suit a particular purpose. Time it records is what your device reported; it is not evidence for a dispute with a client or an employer unless you and they agree it is.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from Timato in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect loss such as lost profit or lost data that you could have exported. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under the law of the country where you live are not affected by these terms.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes go to Harju County Court in Tallinn, unless you are a consumer in another EU country, in which case you may also bring a claim where you live. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. For changes that reduce your rights or increase your obligations, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use Timato after that date means you accept them.
